Gun Free Zones Kill, Again – This Time 4 Marines in Chattanooga

This keeps happening and yet it is predictable, and to some degree preventable. Our lawmakers and politicians continue to believe that our society needs what they call “gun free zones”, ostensibly to keep guns out of the building, arena, or gathering place. But gun free zones are becoming known as “killing zones”.

A few weeks ago, we reported about a senseless shooting in Charleston, S.C. This time the location is in Chattanooga, TN where a Muslim man shot through the windows of a military recruiting station located in a strip mall. Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, a naturalized American citizen, born in Kuwait, with citizenship in Jordan, woke up in the morning and decided that this form of terrorism, shooting up two military centers with an AK-47, would be appropriate for his unknown cause. He paid for it with his life.

According to Sgt. 1st Class Robert Dodge, the leader for the recruitment center for the U.S. Army, shots starting ringing out 10:45. First one shot and then many more. He and his colleagues got down on the ground and tried to barricade themselves in a safe place. He estimated that some 30 – 50 shots were fired. The shooter was apparently shooting from his convertible Mustang in the parking lot. He most likely went through one 30 round magazine for his AK-47. Sgt. Dodge praised the police for their quick response but stressed that the Marines inside the center simply had no way to respond to the attack; they had no means with which to defend themselves.

gun-free-killing-575x261Ironically, one of the pictures taken shortly after the shooting, showed the “Gun Free Zone” sign on the glass doors that enter the recruiting center. Looks like an invitation to me. Come on in, Sitting Ducks inside.

Disarming recruiters at Federal recruitment centers was an idea of the Clinton administration. Many hoped that President Bush would repeal the Clinton regulation but it did not happen. You can bet that the Obama administration is not going to overturn the regulation, even after this heinous attack. But apparently the Obama administration has learned nothing from the massacres at Fort Hood in 2009 and 2014, nor the attack at the Washington Navy Yard in 2014. Obama simply focuses on the mental health issues. But what if it turns out not to be a mental issue but a terrorist issue. Is there any backup plan for that? Apparently not, as seen here.

But one has to wonder why we trust soldiers all the time with weapons when they are stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan, but for some reason, when we bring them home we no longer trust them. Why do we make it easy for killers to attack our Military installations?

After shooting at the recruiting center, Muhammad shifted his Mustang into high gear drove at a high rate of speed out to the Navy Operational Support Center and Marine Corps Reserve Center Chattanooga. At this location he shot 4 unarmed Marines who never had a chance. Police finally shot and killed the shooter, ending the shooting spree.

As I always say after these killings at Gun Free Zones, ‘if only one person had been allowed to have a gun, it could have been different’. It could be said about Aurora, Sandy Hook, Fort Hood, Charleston, and so on. We set people up as sitting ducks in a Gun Free Zone.

As a result, Oklahoma Governor, Mary Fallin (R), today authorized the state’s adjutant general to arm military personnel at certain military facilities, in defiance of the Obama administration. She authorized them to arm certain military installations with weapons appropriate to provide for the security of the facilities and their personnel.

Donald Trump went off on Twitter and elsewhere today saying that it is time to “get rid of Gun Free Zones” all together. Personally, I agree. We need to bring back our Military’s Right To Carry to protect our citizens on American soil. We are placing our citizens in a Gun Free “Killing Zone”.

Gun Free Zones Kill – Now 9 in Charleston, S.C.

Once again liberal law makers have put their own constituents in harm’s way and the unthinkable has happened – 9 innocent victims were needlessly massacred while studying the Bible at their church. When are they going to realize that so called “gun free zones” are no less than a “killing zone” for some gun free killing zonedrugged up or mentally ill wacko who is looking to kill innocents and be assured that no one there will be carrying a weapon and be able to stop him? When are they going to realize that these same wackos intentionally look for gun free zones to carry out their evil plans?

I suppose it’s possible that lawmakers may not even know that they have created a ‘killing zone’ out of a church, but South Carolina statutes clearly state that churches and places of religious study are on the list of places that one may not enter with a gun even if you have a permit for concealed carry or otherwise. They simply created the law to fit their agenda. The thing is that it is not necessary by law for a church to put up a sign with a silhouette of a gun in a red circle and a red line through it. It is not necessary for a church to display a sign stating that it is a “gun free zone” the way schools do. But they may as well put up a sign saying “KILLING ZONE” because that is what is was and is in Charleston, or for that matter, all schools and churches in South Carolina or anywhere else for that matter. A “Gun Free Zone” and/or a sign stating such, will not protect anyone.

Yes, it was indeed one Dylann Roof, a 21 year old disturbed young man who committed the heinous act, but it was the liberal law restricting guns from all churches, that gave him the perfect venue. Now I must admit that if there was no such law banning guns from church, it would not guarantee that there would have been any other members there carrying a gun. After all, one would think that church is a safe environment. But if only one other member there had a weapon, it would have turned out entirely different.

I have heard in recent days, pastors come forward that who have said that they welcome their parishioners who are properly licensed, to carry their weapon concealed to the church, that they have an agreement that they may do so in mutual recognition of the duty they have to provide protection for all in the event of an atrocity that might befall the congregation. I have also heard in the days following this most recent attack, that other pastors would do the same, if they could in their state that now bans such acts. I have also heard from pastors who are vehemently against the whole idea of guns in church. But at least they should have the choice, and not be handcuffed by liberal law makers who ban self-defense by law.

That liberal lawmakers have created such conditions is in itself, a heinous act.

Not only do liberals fail to recognize the unsafe conditions that they have created by banning guns from institutions, but they immediately set out to blame conservatives for the shootings when they happen. Within hours of the shooting, the bodies not yet cold, President Obama held a press conference wherein he blamed the shootings on the ease with which a person may obtain a gun. Hillary Clinton actually tried to blame Donald Trump for the environment which would allow this to happen. And a CNN interview set out to blame FOX News and Conservative Radio for coded messages they propagate in their hate filled commentaries that undoubtedly incite people to conduct such heinous acts. SERIOUSLY??

These leftist gun grabbing extremists must not be allowed to continue. They must be stopped, or at least exposed for racist, haters they are. It is they who spew these hate filled, racist ideas to churn up the low information hordes of reactionary mobs that would begin a riot or at the very least, continue with more of the same propaganda to further a liberal agenda.

You never hear of right minded conservative proponents making such vile claims of the other side. Hell, they don’t even stand up for themselves, let alone make unsubstantiated claims as the left does. Our own Republican leaders in Congress are so spineless they willingly hand over much of what the left wants to pass.

I grow weary waiting for the time that we might have a worthwhile group of leaders that actually stand up for conservative values as I remember we once had when I was growing up. We elect congressmen and senators who say they will stand up for our ideals who merely make a one-time feeble attempt at making change and then acquiesce to will and moderate desires of the Republican leadership. If our Republican ruling class will not to the job, we will have to vote ones in who will.

The Most Logical Approach to Gun Ownership

I guess this has been around for some time now, perhaps about 10 or 12 years now but it still makes sense.  I received it as an email the other day and it says that Fred Maslack ‘recently’ proposed this as a bill but for as much as I can tell, he is not even still in the legislature anymore.  It has probably surfaced as a result of the recent new push for more gun control.  But it is still a great idea that came from someone in New England with a realistic head on his shoulders.

Flag GunVermont State Rep. Fred Maslack has read the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, as well as Vermont’s own Constitution very carefully, and his strict interpretation of these documents is popping some eyeballs in New England and elsewhere.

Maslack recently proposed a bill to register “non-gun-owners” and require them to pay a $500 fee to the state.  Thus Vermont would become the first state to require a permit for the luxury of going about unarmed and assess a fee of $500 for the privilege of not owning a gun.  Maslack read the “militia” phrase of the Second Amendment as not only the right of the individual citizen to bear arms, but as ‘a clear mandate to do so’.  He believes that universal gun ownership was advocated by the Framers of the Constitution as an antidote to a “monopoly of force” by the government as well as criminals.  Vermont’s constitution states explicitly that “the people have a right to bear arms for the defense of themselves and the State” and those persons who are “conscientiously scrupulous of bearing arms” shall be required to “pay such equivalent.”  Clearly, says Maslack, Vermonters have a constitutional obligation to arm themselves, so that they are capable of responding to “any situation that may arise.”

Under the bill, adults who choose not to own a firearm would be required to register their name, address, Social Security Number, and driver’s license number with the state.  “There is a legitimate government interest in knowing who is not prepared to defend the state should they be asked to do so,” Maslack says.

Vermont already boasts a high rate of gun ownership along with the least restrictive laws of any state.   It’s currently the only state that allows a citizen to carry a concealed firearm without a permit.  This combination of plenty of guns and few laws regulating them has resulted in a crime rate that is the third lowest in the nation.
“America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.”   This makes sense!  There is no reason why gun owners should have to pay taxes to support police protection for people not wanting to own guns. Let them contribute their fair share and pay their own way.

Sounds reasonable to me!  Non-gun owners require more police to protect them and this fee should go to paying for their defense!

Newt Gingerich Believes All Men Should Have the Right to Bear Arms

At the annual convention of the NRA, Newt Gingerich gave a rousing speech that was met with much laughter and applause from the members attending.  One thing that was most notable in the things he said was that he believes that everyone on earth deserves gun rights and should have their own Second Amendment.

He also said that if he were elected President, he would “submit to the United Nations a treaty that extends the right to bear arms as a human right for every person on the planet because every person on the planet deserves the right to defend themselves from those who would oppress them, those who would exploit them, rape them or kill them.”

Wow, compare that to our current “socialist in chief”.  He is currently lobbying members of Congress to adopt the U.N.’s proposed “Small Arms Treaty” that effectively would take away our guns and nullify our own Second Amendment.

I briefly digress here but the U.N. Small Arms Treaty that Obama is so enamored with would, “confiscate and destroy all “unauthorized” civilian firearms (exempting those owned by our government of course) and that means yours, ban the trade, sale and private ownership of semi-automatic weapons” (again, that means yours), and other egregious things.  I could go on here but I refer you to an article on this in Forbes magazine from June 7, 2011 for more information on this horrific idea Obama wants to foster if he is re-elected to another term.

But getting back to Mr. Newt, he has a more logical idea that is 180 degrees the opposite – imagine that.  This is the man whom I feel should be at the fore front of our Presidential campaign.  I mean if he were to become our candidate for President on the Republican side, he would no doubt mop the floor with Obama.  This man speaks from the heart, unlike the Bam Bam who needs a teleprompter to remember his lines.  Mr. Newt speaks from the heart because it is part of his core, his personal beliefs, and moral fortitude.  He doesn’t need to be reminded what he believes in his sole.

His speech to the NRA members brought them to their feet with applause when he announced his idea for a different treaty that would empower all people.  “Let’s take the George Soroses and Hillary Clintons head on,” Mr. Newt said to the cheering crowd.  “They represent a world in which elites disarm the rest of us so we are then helpless when elites turn sour and when evil reappears.”

He also told the NRA members that “he has been much too timid and moderate in his defense of gun rights.”  I think that perhaps he should have been a little more vocal on these issues before now.  Maybe he might be a little farther ahead in the race for President.  Afterall, this is the man, out of the current stable of contenders that should become our President.  I mean, think of it – President Gingerich.  Sounds good, doesn’t it? Pass it on.  Maybe it will catch on.  It’s not too late.

“The right to bear arms comes from our Creator, not our government.” – Newt Gingrich

Gun Control – Do We Really Need It?

I couldn’t believe it the other day when someone whom I thought knew me, asked me, “So how do you feel about Gun Control?  Don’t you think we really need it?”  As if she didn’t know my answer to that!?  Looking back I now think she was just trying to get me going, but that’s OK too.  But as for Gun Control, let me put it this way.  Another great blog that I link to here, Extrano’s Alley, has this prominently displayed on the top of his front page and it pretty much sums it up.

There are more than 22,402 restrictive gun laws in force.  Of those, not even one has ever reduced crime. In fact, crime has increased after each of these laws, and the amount depends on the severity and level of enforcement of the law.

The fact is, (borrowing from the great movie with Humphrey Bogart, “Sierra Madre”) we don’t need no stinking badges – to carry our guns.  I added the last four words, but what I mean is we shouldn’t need no stinking permit to carry a gun, concealed or otherwise.  We shouldn’t have to show good cause to be able carry a gun, concealed or otherwise.  Let’s face it, criminals certainly don’t feel they need a permit to carry a gun when they are a committing a crime.  They’re already breaking the law.  Why should they worry about a stinking gun permit.

We already have the only permit we should ever need in the Second Amendment. Our Founding Fathers gave us the right to carry guns and they recognized that it was a right that should never be taken from us lest we see ourselves as subjects of a tyrannical government.  Our Constitution was written to restrict what Government can do – not restrict what citizens can do.

Just what part of “shall not be infringed” do you not understand?  And yet, every year, legislators devise some new way to infringe upon law abiding gun owners and restrict their gun right.  These same legislators took an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States”.   But with every new Gun Control law they are further destroying the Constitution.  With every new Gun Control law they are violating that sacred oath and deliberately shifting the balance of power into THEIR hands and into the hands of the criminals.

That quote I placed above is probably a little old in that there are many more than 22,402 restrictive gun laws in these United States.  There are more laws every year, especially in California and New York – and Illinois, and Massachusetts, but I digress.  But not one of those Gun Control laws has ever stopped a murder, a burglary, armed robbery, car jacking, sexual assault – again I could go on.

Gun Control laws do absolutely no good to anyone but the criminals, because they actually make their job easier.  They only restrict law abiding citizens from being able to effectively defend themselves from others who have made crime their career choice.

New gun laws do accomplish one thing in that they secure the liberal legislators in their seats.  They appease their liberal base such that they will vote for them next time, confident that the same liberal hacks will continue to support ridiculous Gun Control laws.

I used to think that these new laws they write and pass must at least make them feel good in that they must feel that they have done something positive to protect society and keep them safe.  But any more I can’t believe that they could possibly continue to be that stupid.  When all of the evidence flies in the face of that notion, how can they really believe something so ridiculous?  Gun Control laws actually work to increase crime in every area or state they are tried.  Every large population center that has strict gun control laws, has violent crime that is out of control and on the rise every year.  It has gotten so bad that the crime statistics that they are reporting are deliberately cooked to try and show decreasing crime so they can continue support their absurd notions that Gun Control laws are working.

Gun Control laws are against the law in my opinion as every one of them goes against the Constitution of the United States and the Second Amendment.  Guns should always have a place in our Society or we will cease to be a free people.   The only laws we should even consider might be restricting those who have mental disabilities and violent criminals, although the latter does absolutely no good anyway.  But guns should never be in the hands of the mentally disturbed.  Although, there is another problem, how do you find those people before they commit some insane act?

Other than that, I believe the Gun Control laws we have now should be repealed.  Every law abiding citizen should be required to own a gun and know how to safely use it.  Crime in our country would amazingly become so much more infrequent that news bureaus would have to look other places for their news stories.  Of course they are doing a lot of that now already by making up new false issues in order to further liberal bias.  But that is another rant altogether that perhaps I will have to take on another day.

A society that does not trust its citizens with guns does not trust its citizens.   When citizens live in a society where only the police and military have guns, they are living in a police state  –  Anonymous

Barbara Boxer Says Republicans Want To Kill People

In a press conference Tuesday, Barbara Boxer claimed that by attaching an Oil Pipeline bill to the Tax Cut Extension bill that Obama wants, Republicans are going to be responsible for more than 8,000 people dying as a result, and they want this as a Christmas present to the people.

An article reporting on this in The said that she claims that people would “die from breathing in too much poison in the form of mercury, lead, and arsenic”, as a result of this attachment to the bill.

ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME?!?! I want to ask, “Is she really that stupid?”  But that is rhetorical, since I know she is.  The problem is that, since I also know she can’t think for herself, so she is obviously repeating clap trap from the Democrat leadership.  I really wish that I could reach out and strangle the people that voted for this idiot to be re-elected, and the slap them and tell them to wise up.

Liberals tell us that we need to kinder and gentler in our criticisms and comments to the media and yet they are out there spewing garbage like this.  It gets picked by the liberal media and made to look like Republicans are dumb shits when all you really need to do is look at the source of the comment for stupidity.

How many people have you killed Mrs. Boxer with all of your abortion legislation, or gun control bills that victimize people and keep them from being able to defend themselves?

When it really comes down to it, America needs the Keystone XL oil pipeline which is supposed to go from Canada to Texas.  We need it because all sources of energy in this country need to be expanded to lower our dependence on foreign oil and produce cheaper oil from our own continent.

But liberals fight it at every turn and the stand up and say we need to explore ‘alternative energy’ as our new energy frontier.  What, like Solyndra?  Green energy programs are repeatedly turning up as expensive failures.  Alternative fuels such as ethanol cause food shortages and drive up the cost of food to poor people, the very people the Democrats claim to be protecting.

This country is killing itself on Liberal ideas and Democrat legislation.  We are going to politically correct ourselves into socialism and the ultimate death of American Exceptionalism if we don’t turn things around.  People – please wake up.

Rick Perry Wants to Get Serious on Insider Trading

Following is an article by Governor Rick Perry of Texas, who is currently a candidate running for President of the United States.  In the article he makes some points that not only make a lot of sense but should be read and understood by all Americans who plan to vote in November.  While I am not necessarily endorsing Governor Perry at this time, I would certainly vote for him if he becomes the Republican nominee.

The current field of Republican candidates has several fine candidates that would make a fine President and I am still analyzing each of their attributes.  As such have not decided on one whom I would like to be the nominee. I only know that I definitely do not want Mitt Romney.  We don’t need a middle of the road RINO who is willing to kiss liberals butts to get legislation that will only compromise our values, passed through Congress.

Rick Perry’s plan is proposing to establish a “part time” congress to bring it back in line with the fundamental tenets of our founding fathers who believed that elected congressmen and senators should come out of the working class and return there after their term in Congress.  The full time professional legislators we now have become entrenched in the trappings of power and money that influences voting and their mindset.

Read now an alternative idea proposed by a fine American; Governor Rick Perry:

Time To Get Serious About Insider Trading in Washington

by Governor Rick Perry (R-Tx)

Congress is finally feeling the pressure over insider trading, the practice of trading financial securities based on non-public information available to a select few in government.

After a series of investigative reports, including several here at Big Government, the American people are beginning to realize that what is wrong with this country can be diagrammed on a map, with a straight line connecting Wall Street and Washington, D.C.

Now exposed to the light of day, the political establishment is determined to show the American people it is “doing something” to clean up its act.

This week, the House Financial Services Committee held a hearing on the matter, taking what many observers saw as great pains to minimize perceptions of a systemic and bipartisan problem.  But I remain skeptical, as do many Americans, that Congress will actually pass a bill with teeth that requires them to live by the same rules as the rest of us.

The fact is, things will never change as long as the same Washington insiders remain in control.  Washington is broken and needs a complete overhaul, but establishment politicians only want to tinker at the margins.  This is why we can’t ask a Washington insider to fix Washington, because it takes an outsider to overhaul a corrupt culture.
